Mark Duda’s musical journey began in 1988 when he became lead vocalist and songwriter for the NJ-based punk rock band AGI (Amorphis Geometric Impossibilities). This marked the inception of a lifelong relationship with music. Throughout the 1990s, Duda continued to hone his craft as the lead vocalist and songwriter for several bands, including Billy Goats Gruff, Vehicle, and American Fly. His performances at iconic New York venues such as CBGB, Continental Divide, The Bitter End, and the Knitting Factory allowed him to leave an imprint on the city’s musical landscape.

Starting in the early 2000’s Mark co-founded eclectic hard rockers. The Handful. Mark’s Duda’s journey changed following The Handful’s 2015 release “Sons of Downtown.” Fuelled by his passion for music and a desire to explore new avenues, Duda embarked on a solo career. In 2017, he unveiled his debut solo effort, “Month of Sundays.” The album featured an ensemble cast of talented musicians, including Thommy Price (drums), Kenny Aaronson (bass), Jimi Bones (guitar), and guest appearances by luminaries like Cheetah Chrome (guitar) and Arno Hecht (saxophone). “Month of Sundays” proved pivotal, garnering both critical acclaim and commercial success. The album’s impact firmly established Mark Duda as a prominent figure in the New York City rock and roll scene.

Following his departure from an attempt to resurrect The Handful, Duda channeled his creative energy into fresh solo material. The result was the critically acclaimed album “Bodega Flowers,” a work that quickly soared to the top of Amazon’s New Indie Rock Chart. This transformative album showcased Duda’s evolution as a generational songwriter and further solidified his position as a musical force to be reckoned with. With Thommy Price (drums), Kasim Sulton (bass), and Jimi Bones (guitar) forming the core of the band, and featuring guest appearances by the likes of Arno Hecht (saxophone) and Johnny Pisano (Background Vocals), “Bodega Flowers” stands as a testament to Duda’s artistic prowess.

Amidst his musical endeavors, Mark Duda has found unwavering support and companionship in his family. In 1988, he met Rebecca, who would later become his wife. They tied the knot in 1999 and remain a steadfast unit. They have been blessed with two children, Timothy Walter and Audrey Elaine. As Duda’s journey continues, his family remains a source of inspiration and strength.
